On Duty Death of TPS Detective John Park


On behalf of the Executive & Leadership Team and all police chaplains with the Canadian Police Chaplain Association, our deepest condolences to John's family, friends, and all those who served alongside John at the Toronto PS.


While on duty on Dec 19th and executing a search warrant as a member of the Hold Up Squad, John suffered a medical episode that claimed his life. A 14-year member with TPS, John is survived by his wife Tina, and his children Madison and Austin, nine and five years of age. The passing of Det. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Bayview Glen Church (300 Steeles Ave E, Thornhill – east of Bayview Ave., north side of Steeles Ave.) at 1 pm. Cremation to follow. TPS Chaplain and CPCA member Wendell Gibbs will be officiating the service with the benediction assisted by TPS Chaplain Frank Lim. To all our CPCA members: please keep our TPS Chaplains in your prayers as they fulfill God's call to pour out His love to all who are hurting through the loss of a husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, colleague and public servant of many residents in Toronto.
