In my opinion, this is an absolutely brilliant article written by Chaplain Lorraine Smith McDonald. Lorraine has been involved in research for over eight years in the area of "moral injury"; a topic that is close to my heart having experienced it numerous times throughout my 32 year policing career. Lorraine provides history and symptomology to help chaplains recognize this real issue ever present in the lives of police officers.
